Heading into the kickoff show at The Viper Room on a Sunday night, I’ll admit I was a little nervous. Booking a show in West Hollywood always comes with pressure, and the cold, rainy weekend didn’t help. You never want to be the promoter with an empty room on the Sunset Strip.
But once the music started, the venue filled up fast. Fans were grabbing drinks, the energy was high, and even Tommy Black, The Viper Room’s GM and resident rockstar, was clearly enjoying the night.
I bartend at The Viper Room, so I was pulling double duty—serving drinks while also promoting and running the show. Because of that, I only had time to grab quick iPhone clips of each artist, and the quality isn’t great. One improvement we plan to make is adding a professional photographer/videographer to future showcases.
Despite the weather, the first Sunday Night Showcase felt like a win. I’m looking forward to improving the production each week and bringing more industry eyes to these hardworking local, and sometimes not-so-local, bands.
If you have higher-resolution photos or videos of any of the bands, feel free to email them to booking@tower74concerts.com. We’ll post what we can. Please include the name to credit the photo or video.

Less Than Perfect
A hard-hitting punk power trio from Ridgecrest, CA, opened the night with attitude and energy.
Los Dead Kings
From East L.A. County, they delivered a gritty punk set that hit hard early in the night.
American Diet
This heavy, talented San Gabriel Valley band delivered one of the standout sets of the night.
DreamHeroZero
A rising pop-punk band from Thousand Oaks with a loyal following and a strong stage presence.
Space Zombies
A fun Misfits tribute from Long Beach. The singer’s strong voice and the band’s energy had the crowd chanting for an encore.
TLAQUAXE
The main-stage closer and one of my favorite sets of the night—heavy, technical, and packed with meaning. A powerful way to end the upstairs lineup.
Tonight’s Sunshine
Opened the acoustic portion with an impressive set. A talented artist worth keeping an eye on.
Dennis Mauk
The King Tide frontman played a lively acoustic set filled with personality, wit, and even a fun “Smoke Two Joints” cover.
Brendan Ranney
Closed out the night with a chill acoustic alternative-rock performance that fit the lounge atmosphere perfectly.
